22nd Annual HCSRN Conference

The 2016 conference, Advancing Population Health: New Models and the Role of Research, will highlight new and ongoing collaborations between researchers, clinicians, administrators, and patients. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, improving services and outcomes for vulnerable populations, the impact of the Affordable Care Act on public health, research that integrates traditional epidemiologic data and methods with non-health sources such as consumer behaviors and preferences, the role of precision medicine in cancer care and beyond, Big Data in the area of health informatics, and the growing role for engaging patients throughout the research process.

New at HCSRN 2016

In addition to the traditional Plenaries, Concurrent Oral Abstract Sessions, and Poster presentations, 2016 will feature a new format on the last day of the conference, Saturday April 16, with conference attendees having 3 focused, full-morning symposia to choose from.

There will be cutting edge presentations and informative discussion on 3 topics highly relevant to health and health care research:

  1. The HCSRN Patient Engagement in Research Scientific Interest Group (PER-SIG) is hosting a Patient Engagement Symposium
  2. CRN with additional planning partners from the ACS, CDC, Emory, NCI, and NHGRI are leading the Precision Medicine and Cancer Symposium
  3. The Training Task Force of the HCSRN Governing Board will be running a mentoring workshop.

These offerings are included as part of the 2016 full conference registration and all conference attendees are invited to choose a topic of interest and participate.

A special one-day registration is also available for others who will just join the conference to attend the Saturday symposia.

More details will be coming soon - make sure to check back frequently for the most current information.
