Submit an Abstract


The Conference will be held virtually on May 11-12, 2021. We hope you will not only attend but also contribute your depth of knowledge and expertise by submitting a panel presentation proposal. HCSRN 2021 will offer concurrent sessions for both panel presentations and oral abstracts. Panel presentations are designed to maximize value and to attract attendees from differing backgrounds. Panel topics may be scientific, methodological, operational, or anything else likely to draw a large, diverse audience. You may submit a panel presentation with the topic of your choosing and create your own panel participants.

Deadline and Procedures

  • Abstracts will be accepted through Friday, February 12, 2021 at 11:59 pm PT.
  • You may submit more than one abstract for review. However, each submission must be completed in full before a new submission can be started.
  • Acknowledgment of receipt of submission will be sent to the presenting author's email upon completion of submission.
  • The Conference Planning Committee reserves the right to accept and determine the presentation format, or decline all abstracts. If your abstract is not accepted for an oral presentation, it may still be accepted for a poster presentation.
  • Submitters will be notified of acceptance status by Friday, March 26, 2021.
  • All presenters are required to register for the Conference by Friday, April 2, 2021.
  • All accepted abstracts will be published in an online supplement publication selected by the Conference Planning Committee.
  • This presentation will be presented virtually. Sessions may be presented live or pre-recorded for live streaming and/or on-demand access, which will be determined by HCSRN. All presenters are expected to be "in attendance" for their scheduled session regardless of whether it is presented live or pre-recorded for live streaming. Presenters will not receive compensation or reimbursement of expenses at the 2021 HCSRN Conference. If selected to present, speakers agree to adhere to the schedule established by HCSRN and to comply with all requirements set forth in this submission and any future HCSRN Conference communications.

Online Submission

All abstracts must be submitted via the online submission system on the conference website.


Please carefully review your abstract prior to finalizing your submission. You must click "Submit" for the abstract to be submitted. If you do not click "Submit" on the final submission screen, the abstract is not considered submitted and will not be reviewed.


Edits to the abstract may be made online after submission until the deadline of 11:59 pm PT on Friday, February 12, 2021. Editing a submitted abstract requires you to log in via your submitted email address and provide the passcode you created when you began the submission process.


Abstract Formatting and Content Requirements

  • Abstract titles are limited to 150 characters.
  • Titles should be entered in Title Case. Title case has a capital letter for the start of every significant word - where words such as "and", "of", "the", and "a" are not considered significant. This is an Example of Title Case. Do not enter information in all capital letters.
  • Section headers (background, methods, results, conclusion) will be electronically formatted by conference organizers. You do not need to include these titles in your abstract.
  • Abstract text is limited to 350 combined words. Abstracts exceeding 350 words will be removed from the submission.

Acceptance of Abstracts

Compliance with all stated conditions including adherence to the deadline is required. Acknowledgment of receipt of submitted abstracts will be sent via email upon submissions.


Presenting authors must register no later than Friday, April 2, 2021 for their abstract to be published in the conference materials and for their presentation to be included in the conference agenda. Presenters not registered by this deadline will be removed from the conference proceedings.


Individuals submitting abstracts agree if their abstract is accepted, they will attend the conference and present their abstract as scheduled. The presenting author should be prepared to answer substantive questions about all aspects of the data. If a change in the presenter's ability to present occurs, the presenter is asked to contact the conference organizer immediately at



All accepted abstracts will be published in an online supplement publication selected by the Conference Planning Committee. Authors consent to abstract publication in conference materials and as an open-access online supplement.



By submitting an abstract, authors and co-authors transfer any copyrights and grant permissions to HCSRN 2021 and agree the submitted abstract can be published in the conference materials and shared broadly. Abstracts will not be published or made public until one week prior to the start of the conference.
