2024 Conference Submission Information

HCSRN 2024 will offer concurrent sessions for both panel presentations and oral abstracts. Panel presentations are designed to maximize value and to attract attendees from differing backgrounds. Topics may be scientific, methodological, operational, or anything else likely to draw a large, diverse audience. You may submit a panel presentation with the topic of your choosing and create your own panel participants.

Monday, February 12, 2024 - Late Breaker Submission Site Closes.

Deadlines and Procedures

  • Submissions will be accepted through Thursday, December 21, 2023 11:59:59 pm ET
  • You may submit more than one abstract or panel presentation for review. However, each submission must be completed in full before a new submission can be started.
  • Acknowledgment of receipt of submission will be sent to the presenting author's email upon completion of submission.
  • The Conference Planning Committee reserves the right to accept or decline all submissions.

Online Submission

All abstracts and panel presentations must be submitted via the online submission system on the conference website.

Please carefully review your presentation prior to finalizing your submission. You will receive a confirmation email and see a confirmation message when you complete your submission.

After submitting a proposal, you will be presented with the opportunity to immediately submit another.

The submission site uses cookies. If you want to submit two different types of proposals, you’ll need to completely close your browser or use an Incognito browser after the first submission. This will clear the cookies and allow you to switch formats.

Please do not use Internet Explorer as it is not supported by this platform.

Acceptance of Submissions

Compliance with all stated conditions including adherence to the deadline is required. Acknowledgment of receipt of submissions will be sent via email upon submission.

Individuals submitters agree that if their presentation is accepted, they will attend the conference and present as scheduled. If a change in the presenters’ ability to present occurs, the presenter is asked to contact the conference organizer immediately at [email protected].

If accepted, your work will be published in the Journal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews.

If an abstract is not selected for an oral presentation, it will be accepted for a poster presentation. If a panel submission is not accepted, the HCSRN Annual Conference Planning Committee will reach out to the panel participants with the opportunity to submit individual abstracts for consideration for a late breaker session. 

Panel Presentation

Panel Presentation Formatting and Content Requirements

  • Panel submissions should be methodological, "how-to", or problem-solving.
  • Presentation titles are limited to 150 characters.
  • Titles should be entered in Title Case. Title case has a capital letter for the start of every significant word – where words such as “and”, “of”, “the” and “a” are not counted as significant. This is an Example of Title Case. Do not enter information in all capital letters.
  • Each section of the submission has a character limit; this limit includes spaces. The sections and limits are:
    • Purpose/Background – 500 characters with spaces
    • Brief Summary of Presentation – 1,000 characters with spaces
    • Learning Objectives – 500 characters with spaces

Abstracts

Scientific Abstract Formatting and Content Requirements

  • Scientific Abstract titles are limited to 150 characters (including spaces).
  • Titles should be entered in Title Case. Title case has a capital letter for the start of every significant word – where words such as “and”, “of”, “the” and “a” are not counted as significant. This is an Example of Title Case. Do not enter information in all capital letters.
  • Section headers (background, methods, results, conclusion) will be electronically formatted by conference organizers. You do not need to include these titles in your abstract.
  • The Conference Planning Committee reserves the right to accept and determine the presentation format, or decline all abstracts. If your abstract is not accepted for an oral presentation, it may still be accepted for a poster presentation.
  • All accepted abstracts will be published in an online supplement publication selected by the Conference Planning Committee.
  • Each section of the abstract has a character limit; this limit includes spaces. The sections and limits are:
    • Background - 400 character limit with spaces
    • Methods - 750 character limit with spaces
    • Results - 845 character limit with spaces
    • Conclusions - 400 character limit with spaces

Publication

Accepted abstracts will be published in the HCSRN 2024 materials and as an open access online supplement . Authors consent to abstract publication in conference materials and as an open-access online supplement entitled Journal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews.

Copyright

By submitting an abstract, authors and co-authors transfer any copyrights and grant permission to HCSRN 2024 and agree that the submitted abstract can be published in the conference materials and shared broadly. Abstracts will not be published or made public until one week prior to the start of the conference.

Disclaimer: Please be advised that abstracts accepted for oral, panel, or poster presentation at the HCSRN meeting will be published in the Journal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews. Some journals/conferences may have stipulations that you cannot submit the same abstracts (title, authors and order, all content the same) that were submitted/accepted/published elsewhere (i.e. the HCSRN meeting and Journal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews). For the HCSRN conference, you can submit findings that have been submitted/accepted/published elsewhere.
