Learning Objectives and Program Description:

This interactive preconference workshop will equip participants with practical skills, strategies, and insights to bridge the gap between research and practice within Learning Health Systems (LHSs). Through case examples and collaborative exercises, participants will explore how to design and lead implementation efforts that produce sustainable, equitable, and system-level impact.

Key Learning Areas:
Designing for Real-World Impact

  • Develop implementation plans that account for context, barriers, and facilitators across individual, organizational, and policy levels.
  • Engage clinicians, patients, and administrators through co-design and participatory methods to enhance relevance and feasibility.
  • Integrate principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion into all stages of implementation planning and evaluation.

Leadership and Change Management

  • Strengthen facilitation, communication, and stakeholder alignment skills to lead multidisciplinary implementation initiatives.
  • Apply change management principles to promote culture change and sustain improvements.
  • Advocate for organizational structures that embed implementation science practices within LHS infrastructure—such as learning collaboratives, data repositories, and feedback systems.

Target Audience:

This workshop is designed for researchers, clinicians, future professionals and health system administrators working within or in partnership with Learning Health Systems (LHSs.) Both early-career professionals and experienced leaders interested in advancing implementation capacity in LHS contexts will benefit from this interactive session
